Torres, Richard

Richard TorresHello,

I want to introduce myself.  My name is Coach Richard Torres and I am the Physical Education Teacher at Park Elementary.  I am starting my 15th year at this campus.  I teach P.E. to Kinder through 5th grade.

My philosophy is very much to the point.  I am a strong believer in having discipline in the classroom.  I am very big in respect between teacher, student and parent.  We are not only going to learn to be physically active as well as healthy choices but also social skills.  Social skills and being physically active will ensure that your child will be successful here at Park as well as lifelong learning.

I would really appreciate that if you have any questions or concerns you can get  a hold of me at rtorres@episd.org.  My Prep time/Conference I am available to talk to you is from 2:30 PM to 3:15 PM.   I am not able to talk to you during class time.   The school number is (915) 587-3540.

I am big in your students participating in PE everyday as much as possible.  I am a firm believer that if they are not being active they are not being healthy.  This concept is in correlation that if active they do better academically.  I do need your child to be ready for P.E. in that they use proper tennis shoes to prevent injury.

I am a 1983 graduate from Ysleta High School here in El Paso.  I am also a 1995 graduate from University of Texas at El Paso.   I started my teaching career here at Park Elementary in the year 2000.
