Hello My Name Is...
Welcome to Edgar Park Elementary!
My name is Patricia Castañeda and I am the Prekindergarten teacher here at Park. “Go PreK Panthers!” I have been at this campus since March of 2011 and I have truly enjoyed being a part of the Park family.
This is my 20th year in the field of Early Childhood Education. I am a proud graduate of the University of Texas at El Paso. “Go Miners!” Throughout my career I have had the wonderful opportunity to teach not only the students but also guide and mentor other teachers as well. I have also been a part of the LPAC Committee for the past 3 years.
I truly believe that every child has the ability to be a successful learner and that not every child will learn in the same way or even at the same pace as everyone else. I try to provide a safe and nurturing environment where students will want to come to school and give their very best effort every day. If you ever wonder why your child doesn’t bring home many handouts it’s because in our PreK classroom students’ do most of their learning through hands-on activities and exploration. We do a lot of oral language development activities in order to build a strong vocabulary.
I also believe that educators can only be successful with the total support of the student’s parents or guardians. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me at the school (915)236-5975 or send me a message through our class Remind messaging system.
Thank you once again for entrusting your precious child to our program. Let’s have a wonderful year!
